As the ICC ODI World Cup returns to India after twelve years, preparations are in full swing nationwide. The Men in Blue ended the campaign on a triumphant note when the blockbuster event was held here back in 2011. The memory still remains fresh in the minds of Indian fans when former captain MS Dhoni whacked a massive six in the final against Sri Lanka to secure the title.

12 years down the line, Team India, under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, will be desperate to replicate the feat this year to win the country’s third World Cup title. Highlighting the hopes, Adidas, the Indian cricket team’s jersey sponsor, has launched a new campaign, titled ‘3 Ka Dream’.

Some of the biggest stars of Indian cricket including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Mohammad Siraj, Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav made their appearances in the campaign video, which was shared by Adidas on X (formerly known as Twitter). The film showcases the passion of Indian fans, who are all geared up in the Blue jersey to cheer for Team India.

Famous Indian wrapper Raftaar has penned the lyrics of the track, which is being played in the background. The lines well and truly demonstrate the love for cricket among Indian people. The music has been composed by Creativeland Asia. “1983 ignited the spark. 2011 brought in glory. 2023 marks the beginning of 3 Ka Dream,” Adidas tweeted.

The Indian squad looks to be in good shape as they are coming off a resounding victory in the recently concluded Asia Cup. The Men in Blue not only won the title but also showed their dominance in the continental showpiece. They defeated the world’s no 1 ODI team, Pakistan, by 228 runs in the Super 4 round before hammering Sri Lanka in the final. Indian pacers appeared in scintillating form in the summit clash to bowl out their opponents in just 50 runs. Mohammad Siraj stole the show with the new ball and folded up with six wickets under his belt to record the best spell in Asia Cup history.

Before going into the home World Cup, India are set to host Australia for a three-match ODI series, which marks their final preparation for the ICC tournament. The BCCI has already announced the squads for the Australia series. Senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been rested for the first two ODIs, with Tilak Varma and Ruturaj Gaikwad replacing them in the squad. Rohit and Kohli will only feature in the third game.
