Despite a mammoth total, the Rajasthan Royals ended up losing to Mumbai Indians on Sunday night
Head coach Kumar Sangakkara gave a pep talk to the players of his IPL Rajasthan Royals team after the team suffered a narrow loss, their fourth of the season, this season on Sunday.
Rajasthan, who have one of the best bowling attacks in IPL 2023, came awfully close to defending a mammoth 213-run target against Mumbai Indians.
Sangakkara addressed the team members inside the RR locker room, saying they should enjoy the game of cricket regardless of the results.

The Sri Lankan legend further praised the cricketers for their efforts while suggesting they are improving day by day. A clip of the interaction was shared on the Rajasthan franchise’s official Twitter page.

In the Twitter video, Sangakkara can be seen telling the Rajasthan players: “I know we are feeling depressed. When you have a big match, a big total, you expect to win. It’s the same thing we did on the other sides. So don’t go down. We have a lot of cricket to play. So keep repeating the good stuff. The only thing from today I want you to appreciate the effort and all the good cricket you played.
Rajasthan fans have also shown their confidence in the team, voicing their thoughts in the comment section. Some of them also made suggestions regarding the improvement of the team.

Another fan felt that Yasashvi Jaiswal deserved to be on the winning side, referring to the century when Rajasthan opened against Mumbai.
Jaiswal crushed 124 runs on 62 balls, an inning that included 16 limits and 8 sixes.

All of RR’s lost games were gifted due to poor picking and readjusting the batting order. Except for Jaiswal, no batter could shine in the Mumbai game. Their bowling department also looked helpless against Mumbai’s searing batting spectacle with just two bowlers maintaining a sub-10 economy.
