Rohit Sharma with Mumbai Indians fans (Twitter)
Rohit Sharma jokingly walked into the locker room without returning the phone after clicking a selfie with Mumbai Indians fans
Rohit Sharma has some fun with a fan during a recent Indian Premier League 2023 game. It actually happened on April 30 at Wankhede Stadium where Mumbai Indians picked up a crucial 6 wicket win over the Rajasthan Royals in the 1000th IPL match. Coming off the pitch, Rohit was approached by a group of home fans to take a picture with them. The Indian captain then picked up a fan’s phone and took a selfie with them. After the click, Rohit headed straight for the dressing room without returning the phone. That’s when the owner of the device started shouting, “Aree Ro bhai, phone toh dete jao (Hey Rohit brother, at least give my phone back).” In response, Rohit turned around smiling and returned the phone.

On a day when the hitters were at the top of their game, Rohit Sharma couldn’t produce anything of significance. The Mumbai fly-half survived 5 deliveries into the crease and only managed 3 runs. Hitting first, the Rajasthan Royals posted a whopping 212 runs thanks to a centurion shot from Yashasvi Jaiswal. The young opener broke his first hundred IPL, scoring 124 on 62 balls.
Mumbai Indians were devastated by Rohit’s first wicket when Ishan Kishan and Cameron Green took responsibility. After Ishan returned for 28, Green continued the show with Suryakumar Yadav. The duo have been tough on opposition bowlers, bringing Mumbai back to the contest. Surya landed his first fifty of the season and made 55 carries on 29 balls. In the end, Tim David showed off his striking prowess with Jason Holder digesting three straight sixes in the final which did the job for Mumbai.
