KL Rahul’s injury, a hamstring strain suffered during LSG’s match against RCB on May 1 in Lucknow, is serious and has prompted the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to take full control of his case. The decision on his future participation will be taken by the medical team of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore.
Despite being in Lucknow, where the team are set to take on Chennai Super Kings, the LSG captain will not be taking part. Krunal Pandya will lead the team in his place. Earlier, in a moody match, RCB defended their low score of 126 points against LSG and won the game by 18 points. The pitch was difficult to play, being very slow and sluggish, and it was difficult for hitters to score.
LSG tried to take advantage of the power play but their aggressive approach didn’t work on this pitch as the ball didn’t arrive and grabbed and spun. Both teams struggled to score and every time a player tried to be aggressive they lost their wicket. LSG missed injured Rahul, who only came out at bat when the game was already lost.

A heated argument between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir ensued after the match. Kohli’s aggressive celebration of every wicket in RCB’s successful defense of a low 127 tally seemed to have triggered Gambhir.
During the post-match handshake, LSG bowler Naveen-ul-Haq was also seen arguing with Kohli, with Glenn Maxwell holding him back. Amid the chaos, Gambhir appeared livelier and was repeatedly held back from charging towards Kohli. Eventually, the two were separated by players, match officials and support staff from both teams.
