Jaydev Unadkat suffers from a shoulder injury

Multiple injury problems haunt almost every Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 franchise and the Lucknow Super Giants story is no different. On Monday night, Captain KL Rahul picked up the injury while playing Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Ekana Stadium, Lucknow. He winced in pain and limped off the ground.
A day before the game, veteran fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat slipped while playing in the net and injured his shoulder. The nature of his injury is not yet known, but the bowler looked completely uneasy after standing up.

The IPL shared a video on its official social media handles on Monday, showing how Unadkat injured himself. The right arm rapid was rolling into the nets when, in his follow up, his left foot got caught in the rope that holds the nets in place. He fell on his elbow and was seen with his arm in a sling as the physio applied an ice pack to his left shoulder.

“See you soon on the pitch @JDUnadkat. I wish for a quick recovery to the pace of the left arm,” reads the caption of the video.

Unadkat’s injury has raised questions about his availability for the World Test Championship which begins a week after the start of IPL 2023. According to media reports, BCCI medical staff are in constant contact with the bowler and awaiting word on whether to travel to NCA in Bangalore. We also learned that the shoulder remains painful but that there is no dislocation.
Talking about Rahul’s injury, LSG got hurt saving a boundary in the final delivery of the second. Faf du Plessis hit a delivery from Marcus Stoinis through the covers and he ran for the fence. Rahul gave him a chase before stopping in front of the boundary cushions. He couldn’t save four points but got injured and had to limp off the field.
