The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 was another low-scoring affair that had an exciting ending. The Delhi (DC) Capitals were massively troubled by Gujarat bowlers, being down to 130 for 8 from 20 overs. Mohammad Shami was the bowlers’ choice, returning numbers of 4 for 11 in four overs. Additionally, Mohit Sharma scalped a couple, completing 50 IPL wickets.
But the same story happened with Gujarat batters when they faced Delhi attack. Khaleel made a stunning comeback, knocking out Wriddhiman Saha in the first round. Then Ishant Sharma stepped in and opened the floodgates to the opposition. GT skipper Hardik Pandya scored an unbeaten 59 but his efforts were in vain.

However, the match did not make a difference in the ranking of these two teams in the points table. The Delhi Capitals continue to be bottom with six points and a negative net run rate. On the other hand, Gujarat Titans retained their top spot with a 12-point chart and a net run rate of +0.532.
Orange cap IPL 16
David Warner had a chance to climb the Orange Cap roster, but once again he was fired cheaply. RCB skipper Faf du Plessis scored 44 runs from 40 balls on Monday, aided by a boundary and a six, taking his tally to 466. The South African batter is on top while Yashasvi is in second place with 428 points. Meanwhile, Devon Conway of CSK (414), Virat Kohli of RCB (45.50) and Ruturaj Gaikwad of CSK (354) are ranked third, fourth and fifth respectively.

While CSK pacer Tushar Deshpande remains the league’s highest wicket taker, RCB pacer Mohammed Siraj has moved up to second place after picking up a wicket on Monday night against LSG. The Hyderabad pacemaker dismissed Lucknow fly-half Kyle Mayers to achieve the feat. While Siraj has 15 wickets in his pocket, Arshdeep Singh of Punjab Kings (15), Rashid Khan of Gujarat Titans (14) and Ravichandran Ashwin of Rajasthan Royals (13) follow next in the top five.
