Rain stopped play in Lucknow for a brief period before resuming with no overs wasted. Amit Mishra struck to take out Faf du Plessis in the 44th after Dinesh Karthik showed his intention with a four and a six.

The spinners continued to keep the RCB batters quiet with Ravi Bishnoi landing another major strike when he had Glenn Maxwell LBW on 4. RCB continues to struggle to increase the scoring rate.

Bishnoi landed the first blow when he knocked out RCB hitter Virat Kohli on 31. The dismissal ended a stable early wicket partnership between Kohli and Faf du Plessis.

In what was a turbulent start to the RCB innings, LSG suffered a blow with captain KL Rahul limping off the pitch after picking up an injury while playing. The spinners were tough to deal with as the RCB openers went 42/0 in six overs.

RCB captain Faf du Plessis correctly called it the draw and decided to strike first expecting the pitch to become slower and therefore more difficult for batters later. Bangalore have made some changes – David Willey and Shahbaz Ahmed are out and walking Josh Hazlewood and Anuj Rawat.

Lucknow made a change – they benched Avesh Khan and replaced him with Krishnappa Gowtham.

After losing their last game against the Kolkata Knight Riders, RCB is desperate to bounce back and get their campaign back on track. Faf du Plessis and Co. have slipped in the playoff race and are currently placed sixth in the points table. They need to pull their socks up now to defend themselves or it will be too late. Meanwhile, Du Plessis should be in top form for the clash and will lead the team, unlike the previous three games where he played as an Impact player.

RCB’s middle order must be important now in the tournament as they are too reliant on their star troika Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell to do all the muscle work with the bat.

While Josh Hazlewood could also play his first game of the season on Monday at Ekana, which might suit his style of bowling. Mohammed Siraj has been phenomenal with the ball this season while fellow bowlers Harshal Patel, Wanindu Hasaranga and Vyshak Vijaykumar have been inconsistent with their performances.

Revenge will be on RCB’s mind as they take on LSG in the reverse match of IPL 2023 in Lucknow on Monday night.

On the other side, KL Rahul remained the Lucknow Super Giants’ only concern in the batting department. The LSG skipper has struggled miserably this season with the bat as his strike rate has been under the scanners. While Kyle Mayers hit a fifty last game and should get a nod to Quinton de Kock in the lineup again. Although there is no update on Mark Wood’s availability for the clash.
