IPL 2023 LSG vs RCB points table update: Find out which team tops the Indian Premier League table, with players leading the race for Orange Cap and Purple Cap.
16 point IPL board
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) recorded a tremendous 18 point win on Monday night against KL Rahul’s Lucknow Super Giants. After setting the hosts a modest target of 127 points, Faf du Plessis & Co rounded them up for 108 with one ball to spare. It was the perfect revenge sought by RCB for their loss to Lucknow at Chinnaswamy last month. With the win, Bangalore jumped up the points table while Lucknow slipped.
RCB moved up to fifth place with a total of 10 points in their prize pool. However, they are behind LSG, Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings due to low net run rate; -0.030. Meanwhile, Lucknow lost one position. A win would have taken them to the top of the standings, but after the shocking 187-point loss, they fell to third with 10 points and a net points ratio of +0.639.
Orange cap IPL 16
RCB skipper Faf du Plessis dethroned Yashasvi Jaiswal of the Rajasthan Royals who scored his first IPL cent on Sunday night in what was the 1000e Indian Premier League game. Du Plessis scored 44 points on 40 balls, with the help of a boundary and a six, taking his total points to 466. Yashasvi moved into second place with 428 points. Meanwhile, Devon Conway of CSK (414), Virat Kohli of RCB (45.50) and Ruturaj Gaikwad of CSK (354) are ranked third, fourth and fifth respectively.
IPL 16 purple cap
While CSK pacer Tushar Deshpande remains the league’s highest wicket taker, RCB pacer Mohammed Siraj has moved up to second place after picking up a wicket on Monday night against LSG. Hyderabad’s quick right-hand man fired Lucknow fly-half Kyle Mayers for a three-ball duck to provide Royal Challengers Bangalore and an early breakthrough in the game. While Siraj is now ranked second with 15 wickets, Arshdeep Singh of Punjab Kings (15), Rashid Khan of Gujarat Titans (14) and Ravichandran Ashwin of Rajasthan Royals (13) follow next in the top five.
