Mohammed Siraj produced a special spell in the final of Asia Cup 2023 between India and Sri Lanka in Asia Cup 2023. Siraj put up a masterclass of his swing bowling to dismantle the Sri Lankan batting line-up in the summit clash. Siraj registered his best bowling figures in ODIs with a six-wicket haul on a pitch where the experts expected it to be a turning track.
The 29-year-old started off with a maiden over and then ran riot in his second over where he claimed four wickets in an over to dismantle Sri Lanka batting order. It was a dream over for any bowler as he dismissed Pathum Nissanka, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Charith Asalanka and Dhananjaya de Silva in the span of six deliveries.

The premier pacer was too good for the hosts as they failed to put any fight against him.
He scripted history and joined the likes of Chaminda Vaas and Ali Khan to claim a fifer in ODIs in 16 balls.

Earlier, Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka won the toss and elected to bat first in the finale but it backfired miserably for them. Jasprit Bumrah struck in the first over itself and claimed the wicket of Kusal Perera on the third ball to set up the foundation for India.
Siraj’s 6-21 bundled out Sri Lanka for just 50 in 15.2 overs as it turned out to be an embarrassing day for the hosts in front of their home fans.
